SOLUTIONS
Catch risky orders at checkout
Check the buyer’s address when they pay, and send only the suspicious orders to review.
The problem
Stolen cards are used through proxies placed in the cardholder’s country, or from addresses nowhere near the billing address. Blocking every VPN loses honest customers. Letting everything through costs chargebacks.
What you get for each address
- Where the address is, and how precise that is, to compare with billing and shipping
- A summary of six fraud scores, and each score on its own scale
- VPN, proxy and Tor detection
- One risk score with reasons, if you prefer a single number
A rule to start with
Send the order to manual review when the fraud score summary is high and the address country differs from the billing country. Compare cities only when the location is precise to the city.
An example to adapt, not a threshold we recommend. Every field is in the API reference.
